Meet The Eminent Ilocanos of Ilocos Norte

This video blog aims to invite the younger generation to venture from their highly-technical world to know their Ilocano elders, particularly those from Ilocos Norte. It, likewise, encourages the more mature to reach out to the young. This will close the wide generational gap and will ensure a shared purpose of building a stronger Ilocano community.
The word "natan-ok" means great, noble, or eminent. Thus, our team decided to embrace and use it.

This video blog refuses to be verbose but presents our target succinctly direct and with a lot of encouragement for younger Ilocanos in the North to continue a culture of greatness or eminence.

OUR FOCUS: WHAT AND WHO IS NATAN-OK?

OUR CONCLUSION: ADU TI NATAN-OK NGA ILOCANO

Ilocos Norte has produced a long list of eminent Ilocanos worth emulating.  They have etched their names in different niches: politics, science, literature, arts and education.  They are truly NATAN-OK!

OUR RECOMMENDATION: VISIT LEARNING HUBS AND BE NATAN-OK!

For young people to be NATAN-OK, they should learn more about their forefathers who have left examples of competency and leadership. They should glean from their writings, derive positive insights from their works and hold their memories with respect.  The new breed of Natan-ok should leave the same traces for the next generations to follow.

The initial step to take is to go to learning hubs like Museo Ilocos Norte, a museum cum training center in the heart of Laoag City, and I-Hub which is a treasure trove of reference materials regarding eminent Ilocanos.

Take that step  now.
